Making it so that Shareaholic can be added to websites was one of our most often requested features. Shareaholic used to be just about enabling sharing via browser add-ons. This changes today.
Today, I’m extremely excited to announce an acquisition that we made a few weeks ago of a wildly popular WordPress plugin that enables sharing on websites called SexyBookmarks!
Quick blurb:
SexyBookmarks has proven time and time again to be an extremely useful and successful tool in getting website visitors to actually submit and share web pages to numerous social bookmarking and networking sites.
The aim was to stray away from the usual “in the box” thinking behind most social bookmarking plugins, and add a little flair that would entice readers, rather than deterring them with microscopic icons that get lost in pages heavy laden with content.
SexyBookmarks has been downloaded over 200,000 times by website owners looking for a proven way to make it extremely easy for their visitors to share their content, has been referred to in publications like the New York Times, and has a very active user community around it.
I fell in love with the plugin the moment I saw it. Josh Jones (the main author of SexyBookmarks) has done a fabulous job. It is quite evident that Josh put a lot of thought behind the design. The attention to detail and the fanatical support that Josh provides to users is fantastic. He cares, and it shows. These are all things we adore at Shareaholic.
Now that SexyBookmarks is part of the Shareaholic family, we plan to help Josh make SexyBookmarks even better — faster! I’m very excited for what is to come.
(we’ve been using SexyBookmarks on all our blogs for the past few weeks too, and love it!)
