On the 19th of November 2018, version 8.10.0 of the Shareaholic WordPress plugin was released which caused about 600 sites (out of tens of thousands) to inadvertently reset their Shareaholic settings due to the assignment of a new Shareaholic Site ID during the upgrade process.

We fixed the bug in 8.10.2 and released it early morning of the 20th November, about 12 hours later. The issue itself affected about 3% of those that upgraded during the time.

While it is unlikely that you were affected by this bug, we recommend that you take the following steps if you have the Shareaholic for WordPress plugin:

  1. Ensure you’re on the latest version of Shareaholic for WordPress (8.10.2 or later)
  2. Please connect your new Site Profile ID to Shareaholic.com. Instructions: https://go.shr.lc/2HuHlI2
  3. Please double check your Shareaholic settings.
  4. If you’re on a paid Shareaholic plan, please assign your new Profile ID to your plan. Instructions: https://go.shr.lc/2yeTxIS

We sincerely apologize for this inconvenience. We’re here if you need help with any of these steps or have questions.
