You can already install Shareaholic in several standard locations on your website or blog using our WordPress plugin or app code at Shareaholic.com. However, we want to give you the flexibility\u00a0to install our applications anywhere\u00a0you want on your website. And by understanding a few easy-to-follow steps, you can take our tools even further, allowing them to shine\u00a0from within your site’s\u00a0sidebar.<\/p>\n

There are multiple ways to install our tools into your website. The simplest way of installing them into your sidebar, is creating a widget (in WordPress) or a gadget (in Blogger) for them. This allows you to place the application\u00a0in a desired location easily, and\u00a0without the hassle of having to manually insert it into your website\u2019s code template.<\/p>\n

How to Install Shareaholic in your WordPress or Blogger Sidebar<\/h3>\n

Regardless of what platform you’re using, the first step will be the same and you’ll want to make sure you’re logged in to your Shareaholic account<\/a> in order to create the app code that you’ll install on your site.<\/p>\n

Step One: Create Your Code<\/h3>\n

1.)\u00a0Sign-In<\/a> to your Shareaholic account.<\/p>\n

2.) In the Site Tools<\/strong> section, click the Add App Location<\/strong> dropdown menu.<\/p>\n

3.) Select Share Buttons<\/a>, Related Content<\/a>,<\/strong>\u00a0or\u00a0Follow Buttons<\/a>.<\/strong><\/p>\n

4.) Enter the name of the location where the tool will appear (e.g. Right Sidebar).<\/p>\n

5.) Next, customize the app\u00a0to best fit\u00a0your website’s theme by clicking on the Settings<\/strong> icon.<\/p>\n

6.) Once your customizations are complete, click Save Settings<\/strong>. This will redirect you back to Your Applications<\/strong>\u00a0page. The app\u00a0you created will appear under Locations <\/strong>(e.g. Right Sidebar).<\/p>\n

7.) On the right, click the ‘<\/>’<\/strong> button and copy the app code to your clipboard.<\/p>\n

Step Two: Create your Application Widget\/Gadget<\/h3>\n

WordPress Instructions<\/strong><\/p>\n

1.) Click on Appearance > Widgets <\/strong><\/p>\n

2.) Edit an existing Text widget<\/strong> or drag and drop a new Text widget<\/strong> wherever you want the Share Buttons, Related Content or any other App to appear.<\/p>\n

3.) Paste the Shareaholic shortcode directly into the widget Content box<\/strong> and click Save<\/strong>.<\/p>\n

Blogger Instructions<\/strong><\/p>\n

1.)\u00a0Return to your Blogger admin page<\/p>\n

2.) Click on Layout<\/strong> in the lefthand menu<\/p>\n

3.) Click Add a Gadget<\/strong>\u00a0wherever you want to place the application.<\/p>\n

4.) Select HTML\/JavaScript<\/strong> from the list of gadgets<\/p>\n

5.) Give the gadget a title (this will display on your site) if you’d like, and paste the Shareaholic code into the Content<\/strong> section<\/p>\n

6.) Click Save<\/strong> and your widget, displaying the application you created a code for,\u00a0should now be activated on your site!<\/p>\n
