Others obsess over small &#8212; but important &#8212; things such as the <em>right<\/em> copy.<\/p>\n<p>And yet, when the story goes live, it often seems to have an incredibly limited shelf life. Although, some <a href=\"https:\/\/www.shareaholic.com\/blog\/how-to-increase-traffic-to-website\/\">evergreen posts<\/a> are excellent resources that readers will reference all throughout their careers, the rest of your content will lose its relevance. Of course, there are plenty of clever ways to take what&#8217;s already out in the wild and publish it in new forms that&#8217;ll have your audience <a href=\"https:\/\/www.shareaholic.com\/blog\/3-best-ways-to-engage-online\/\">coming back for more<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p>To uncover a short list of unusual, but awesome, tactics for doing so, we reached out to accomplished marketers and members of the\u00a0<a href=\"http:\/\/yec.co\/\">Young Entrepreneur Council (YEC)<\/a>\u00a0to get their take on the following question:<\/p>\n<h2>What is one creative way I can <a href=\"https:\/\/www.shareaholic.com\/blog\/ways-to-redistribute-repurpose-content\/\">repurpose<\/a> my old blog content?<\/h2>\n<hr \/>\n<p><em>The YEC is an invite-only organization comprised of the world&#8217;s most promising young entrepreneurs. Podcast or Video? You Choose<\/h3>\n<p>&#8220;A great way to repurpose your content is to create audio podcasts or simple videos to earn another set of viewers and listeners in your audience,&#8221; says <a href=\"http:\/\/www.twitter.com\/deveshd\">Devesh Dwivedi<\/a>\u00a0of\u00a0<a href=\"http:\/\/www.idea2inception.com\">Idea2Inception<\/a>,\u00a0a business building boutique.\u00a0A lot of people prefer watching videos or listening to podcasts over reading a blog.&#8221;<\/p>\n<p>New to vlogging and podcasting? Here are a few pro tips for <a href=\"http:\/\/www.socialmediaexaminer.com\/5-steps-to-starting-your-own-podcasting-show\/\">building awesome podcasts<\/a> and <a href=\"http:\/\/www.designsponge.com\/2013\/01\/5-tips-to-create-great-videos-for-your-small-business.html\">creating compelling videos<\/a>.<\/p>\n<h3>2. Rewrite it<\/h3>\n<p>Interestingly enough, entrepreneur\u00a0<a style=\"line-height: 1.5em;\" href=\"http:\/\/www.twitter.com\/DannyBoice\">Danny Boice<\/a>\u00a0shares, &#8220;At <a href=\"http:\/\/www.speek.com\">Speek<\/a>, we keep a Dropbox folder full of every blog post we&#8217;ve ever written.&#8221;<\/p>\n<p>&#8220;These can provide great fodder for follow-up pieces or variations. When we are hungry for <a href=\"https:\/\/www.shareaholic.com\/blog\/10-unexpected-ways-to-come-up-with-fresh-blog-post-ideas\/\">new inspiration for posts<\/a>, we often review old posts and look for ways we can heavily modify them to be new, unique articles, or we&#8217;ll do follow-up pieces to them. Tie Old Content into Current Events<\/h3>\n<p>An old blog post can quickly become the hottest story of the day when you work in <a href=\"https:\/\/www.shareaholic.com\/blog\/what-to-blog-about-right-now\/\">trending topics<\/a>. &#8220;For instance, a piece on healthcare can be creatively repurposed to tie into the implementation of the Affordable Care Act,&#8221; illustrates <a href=\"https:\/\/twitter.com\/moneycrashers\">Andrew Schrage<\/a>, co-founder of <a href=\"http:\/\/www.moneycrashers.com\">Money Crashers<\/a>.<\/p>\n<h3>4. Repost on Quora<\/h3>\n<p style=\"text-align: left;\"><a href=\"https:\/\/twitter.com\/EarlyGrowthFS\">David Ehrenberg<\/a>\u00a0of\u00a0<a href=\"http:\/\/www.earlygrowthfinancialservices.com\">Early Growth Financial Services<\/a>\u00a0knows how malleable quality content is. &#8220;Quora isn\u2019t just for Q&amp;As,&#8221; Ehrenberg notes. &#8220;They have a blog feature, too. Create a blog on Quora, and repost your own original blog content. Tag it with relevant keywords, and you\u2019ll find yourself attracting a new set of readers who are interested in the content you\u2019re sharing &#8212; and may not have heard of you otherwise.&#8221;<\/p>\n<p><img decoding=\"async\" loading=\"lazy\" class=\"aligncenter  wp-image-16798\" title=\"Reposting to Quora\" alt=\"Reposting to Quora\" src=\"https:\/\/www.shareaholic.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2014\/03\/Screen-Shot-2014-03-28-at-6.34.11-PM.png\" width=\"560\" height=\"300\" \/><\/p>\n<h3>5. Share it Again<\/h3>\n<p>A surprisingly simple solution comes from\u00a0<a href=\"http:\/\/twitter.com\/emersonspartz\">Emerson Spartz<\/a> of <a href=\"http:\/\/www.spartzinc.com\/\">Spartz Media<\/a>, one of the fastest-growing digital media publishers.<\/p>\n<p>&#8220;We&#8217;ve actually found that there often is no need to repurpose old content, especially when that content is high quality. Simply sharing it again via social media or your blog can allow that content to reach an entirely new audience the second time around. Just be clear about what you&#8217;re doing. Qualifiers such as &#8220;In Case You Missed It&#8221; or &#8220;Greatest Hits&#8221; tend to work well.&#8221;<\/p>\n<p>Dave Kerpen,<em> New York Times<\/em> best-selling author of <a href=\"http:\/\/www.likeablebook.com\/\">Likeable Social Media and Likeable Business<\/a>\u00a0<a href=\"http:\/\/www.inc.com\/dave-kerpen\/how-to-make-money-by-blogging-on-linkedin.html\">advises<\/a>, &#8220;Don&#8217;t be afraid to share it up to four times, as your friends and colleagues are logged in at different times through the day and week.&#8221;<\/p>\n<h3>6. Challenge Your Readers<\/h3>\n<p>In case you wanted to really spice up things, publicist\u00a0<a href=\"http:\/\/melissacassera.com\/\">Melissa Cassera<\/a>\u00a0recommends you, &#8220;Mobilize your audience by turning a series of blog posts into an interactive challenge. Craft a Course or Daily Email Series<\/h3>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/twitter.com\/Jenny_Blake\">Jenny Blake<\/a>, author, speaker and\u00a0<a href=\"http:\/\/jennyblake.me\/\">business coach<\/a>\u00a0knows exactly how to package information into easy-to-follow materials that educate and enlighten.<\/p>\n<p>Blake believes companies should, &#8220;Connect [their] existing content to a larger theme.&#8221; First, ask yourself, &#8220;What outcomes will it help readers achieve? What are the primary pillars that you draw upon to facilitate that change?&#8221;<\/p>\n<p>Ultimately, &#8220;You can repurpose that material into an online course platform like <a href=\"http:\/\/ruzuku.com\/\">Ruzuku<\/a> with interactive exercises or as a daily email series that helps them build skills in a few key areas over time.&#8221;<\/p>\n<h3>8. Turn Posts into Infographics<\/h3>\n<p>Of course, we mustn&#8217;t neglect the visual learners in our audiences. &#8220;We have a lot of metric-based blog posts, so we began repurposing them into infographics last year,&#8221; said\u00a0<a href=\"http:\/\/www.twitter.com\/vtamethodman\">Liam Martin<\/a> of <a href=\"http:\/\/www.staff.com\">Staff.com<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p>&#8220;The campaign was so successful that we&#8217;ve decided to keep it going. Make it a Free Book on Kindle<\/h3>\n<p><a href=\"http:\/\/www.twitter.com\/nataliemacneil\">Natalie MacNeil<\/a>, author of\u00a0<a href=\"http:\/\/www.shetakesontheworld.com\">She Takes on the World<\/a>, often takes short-form content and makes it long.<\/p>\n<p>&#8220;Repurposing your blog content into a <a href=\"https:\/\/www.shareaholic.com\/blog\/the-definitive-guide-to-related-content-ebook\/\">free e-book <\/a>for Kindle readers can <a href=\"https:\/\/www.shareaholic.com\/blog\/reddit-stumbleupon-digg-delicious-drive-blog-traffic\/\">drive a lot of traffic<\/a> to your website as well as build your list. Don&#8217;t forget to put some time into choosing the right categories!&#8221;<\/p>\n<p>These 9 things won&#8217;t happen on their own.
